The Green Heart of Poringland

We all know Appleslice is the biggest carp in the lake but what's the biggest bream, tench or roach?

That's a question which is often asked - and soon we hope to have some answers.

Lakes’ season ticket holder and voluntary bailiff David Garrod has set up a new Facebook page at www.facebook.com/groups/210864372752733/ where anglers can directly post news of their catches. These can be the total number of fish caught in a day, the heaviest or simply a special catch.

However in order to register the biggest fish of a particular species, the weighing must be independently verified by a witness.  Ideally a photograph of the fish should be supplied.

Once confirmed, we will list the captures on our dedicated Best Catches page.

Alternatively, for those not on Facebook, catch information can be sent direct to the main website by emailing details to secretary@poringlandlakes.co.uk.

To set the ball rolling here's Jonny Causton with Appleslice weighing in at 17lb 14 oz.
